Sam Nelson

Samantha (Sam) Nelson, from Herriman, Utah, began her journey in a small competitive studio where she trained in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip-Hop, and Dance Production. Her versatility and adaptability have been hallmarks of her career, thriving in a variety of dance genres. She danced for three years with Herriman Dance Company under the guidance of Missy Orton and Chelsea Taylor.

Sam continued her education by earning a BFA in Modern Dance from Utah Valley University, where she delved deeper into Modern Dance techniques, including the Martha Graham technique. She had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned dance groups and choreographers, including Diavolo, Kate Jablonski, and various workshops at The Edge, Millennium Dance Complex, and professional classes in L.A. and Chicago.

In addition to her extensive dance background, Sam has also spent time teaching dance and gymnastics, combining her passion for movement with her love of coaching. She taught gymnastics at Flip It Gymnastics and Icon Athletics, helping students build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Her vibrant energy and dedication have made her a dynamic and sought-after coach.

Since graduating in 2021, Sam has been focused on advancing her career in the coaching world, continuing to inspire and motivate students in both dance and gymnastics. She remains committed to the art of movement, pushing herself and her students to achieve excellence in all they do.
